Randall "Rick" Richard Martin, aged 56, of Espanola, passed away peacefully at the Espanola Regional Hospital on November 30, 2024. He was the dear son of Richard and Rose Marie (née Dougherty) Martin and beloved husband of Lisa (née McKenzie) Martin.
Rick was a loving father to Nicole Shortt (Damien) of Cochrane and Jeffrey Martin of Dryden, and a cherished grandfather to Korbin Wrangler Shortt. He will be dearly missed by his siblings Wonita Bonhomme (Jean-Paul) of South Porcupine and Leslie Martin (Jennifer) of Red Deer, as well as by many friends and relatives.
A private graveside interment will take place at a later date in the Espanola Cemetery.

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lucien Alex "Lou" Sirard announces his peaceful passing on November 22, 2024, at the age of 89. Lou passed away at the Wikwemikong Nursing Home, where he received loving care during his final years.
Born on May 7, 1935, to the late Alexandre and Dorina (née Dufour) Sirard, Lou was a beloved husband to the late Lillian Sirard (née Huot) for 66 years. His legacy lives on through his children Marc Sirard (Sally) of Pickering, Diane Sirard (Kelly) of Sudbury, Denise Devon (Gary) of Val Caron, and Michel Sirard of London.
Lou was a cherished brother to Lucienne (Lucy) Antoine of Ottawa, and he is predeceased by his sisters Yvette Gagnon and Rosabelle Weist. He will also be fondly remembered by his brothers-in-law Lawrence Huot (Rolande) and John Huot (Thérèse), both of Espanola, as well as his late brothers-in-law Fred and Leonard (Len) Huot.
Lou’s love and guidance touched the lives of his grandchildren Jacqueline, Jonathan, Alexandra, Kathryn, Melissa, Ryan, and Steven, as well as his great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and volunteers at the Wikwemikong Nursing Home for their compassionate care over the past eight years.
Cremation has taken place, and a service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in Lou’s honor may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario or the Wiikwemkoong Long Term Care Home Capital Campaign.

Daniel F. Brown, a lifelong resident of Espanola, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at the age of 87. Danny was born on November 18, 1938, in Espanola and spent his life as a beloved member of the community. Known for his skill as a licensed mechanic and repairman, Danny’s passion for tinkering and fixing was matched by his generosity and dedication to helping others.
Danny is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Mary, with whom he shared a cherished life at Clear Lake. He was a devoted father to Charlene, Rob (Dawna), and Don (Sheryl), and a proud grandfather to Arielle (Andrew), Matthew (Darion), Max, Danielle, Samantha, and Alex. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren Hallie and Ian.
Predeceased by his parents, Fabiola and Alfred Brown, and his sister Jacqueline Grodesky (Peter), Danny will be deeply missed by his siblings Rochelle Mulholland (Geoff, predeceased), Anne Gibson (George, predeceased), Paul Brown (Rolande), Lucille Noble, and Kathleen Hore (Don). His many nieces and nephews will forever remember him with love.
Danny’s passion for repairing vintage cars and his welcoming spirit left a lasting impression on his family and friends. He was often surrounded by those who enjoyed his company as much as his skill. His contributions to the Espanola community will not be forgotten.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St-Jude’s Catholic Church in Espanola, with interment to follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Danny’s honor to the Espanola Regional Hospital in support of cardiac care.
