Peacefully, with family by her side, at Bluewater Health in Sarnia, on Saturday, December 14, 2024, Marie Bell (nee Procure) passed away two days shy of her 88th birthday. She was the cherished wife of the late Marshall Bell (October 7, 1999) for 44 wonderful years.
Loving mother of the late Doug (2020) (Barbara), Tom (Gabriella) (the late June 2017), Steve (Debbie) (the late Christine 2004), the late Joanne (2012) (John Cadman), and an infant son, the late Marshall James. Devoted grandmother to Jason, Chad (Christine), Athena (Matt), Kristyn (Tim), the late Shaun (1996), Jordan, Justine (Brodie), Natasha (Greg), Vanessa (Cody), and Everett (Josey), and proud great-grandmother to Hailie (Dean), Owen (Darby), Andrew, Hayden (Josie), Nate, Connor, Adam, Cole, Trevor, Emma, Briella, Turner, and Teighan.
Marie was predeceased by her siblings and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, family, and friends—especially all “her girls” in the Ladies’ Auxiliary in Thedford.
Marie’s pride and joy were her grandchildren, and she was their #1 fan. She ensured she was present at their sports games—be it baseball, hockey, or anything else—and supported their academic achievements with equal enthusiasm. These precious moments will forever be cherished by her family.
Marie was deeply involved in her community of Thedford. Her dedication to the Ladies’ Auxiliary and Thedford United Church brought her lifelong friendships. She was a talented quilter, sewer, knitter, and crafter, and her creative legacy has been lovingly passed down to her family. Marie was a strong, passionate woman who will be dearly missed.
Friends will be received at Denning’s of Forest Funeral Home on Thursday, December 19, 2024, for visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at Thedford United Church, 74 Nelson St., Thedford, on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Pinehill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Thedford Royal Canadian Legion Branch 278 – Ladies’ Auxiliary would be appreciated. Online condolences may be expressed at www.forestfuneralhome.com.
