Pastor Florent Mwalimu Amisi Josué

1962 – February 10, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of **Pastor Florent Mwalimu Amisi Josué**, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and mentor, who went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the age of 62.

Born in Kisangani, Democratic Republic of Congo, Florent was the youngest of twelve children to Amsi Ali and Sofiani Muasiti. As a child, his family moved to Kinshasa for post-secondary education and job opportunities. In 1986, he met his beloved wife, Rebecca, at a youth gathering, and in 1993, he traveled to Canada in pursuit of a better life. On February 27, 1995, Florent and Rebecca were joyfully united in marriage in Toronto, Ontario, surrounded by family and friends.

Florent dedicated over fifteen years to the Credit and Insurance sector at RBC Royal Bank of Canada, where he made a lasting impact on colleagues and clients alike. His passion for helping and uplifting others was evident in every aspect of his life.

His greatest calling was his unwavering faith. Florent accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in the summer of 1988 in Kinshasa, where he actively served in youth ministry, choir, intercessory prayer, and evangelism. His passion for the Lord continued in Canada, where he remained devoted to serving in church and sharing the Gospel. At the age of 41, he was ordained as a pastor, faithfully ministering alongside his wife until he was called home.

Florent loved preaching, playing, and watching sports, especially basketball and hockey. He also found great joy in music—singing, dancing, and praising the Lord with all his heart.

He is survived by his loving wife, **Rebecca**, and their six children: **Cindy-Sofiani (Miky-Noemi), Marc-Henri, Florent-Henoc, Elysée-Gloria, and Shallom-Grace**. He is also lovingly remembered by his five grandchildren: **Israel, Adonaiyah, Temani, Doxa, and Kevah**.

William "Bill" Wilson

September 17, 1956 - January 2025

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our loving father and husband, Bill Wilson. Much of his life was spent working to provide caring and supportive foster homes, including his own, for many years, to children with special needs. His work was a natural extension of his personal life as a determined advocate for his daughter Annie, who also lived with special needs. He sought a more just world by removing barriers and creating spaces where children of all abilities could thrive.

Born on September 17, 1956, in Markham, Ontario, Bill grew up around his father’s shoe store, where he learned the values of hard work and dedication that shaped his life. He acted from a deep sense of integrity and always stood up for what was right, even when it was difficult.

Bill had a wide range of skills and interests. In retirement, he reignited his passion for amateur radio, made long-distance friends, and built the perfect computer for his flight simulator hobby. A licensed pilot, he found freedom in the skies. Bill was an electronics expert, an RC flyer, and a lifelong Disney World fan, cherishing the magic it brought to his family. He traveled to places he dreamed of seeing and always enjoyed time with his grandchildren.

Bill is now reunited with his daughter Annie (1985–1997) and is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Hilda; his sons, Murray (Anne Berndl) and Chris (Oksana Fedan); his cherished grandchildren, Michelle, Liam, Lucy, Emily, Benjamin, and Sasha. He was eagerly awaiting the arrival of another grandson, due in May 2025. He is also survived by his younger brother George. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Kathleen and Robert “Murray” Wilson, and his older brother, Robert Haley Wilson (1953–2022).

Peter Ivan Rosenberg (Rozi)

November 18, 1936 - December 11, 2024

Holocaust Survivor, Mensch.

Born to Lenke Lilly Reisz and Dr. Istvan Rosenberg on November 18, 1936, in Budapest, Hungary, Peter passed away on December 11, 2024, in Toronto, Ontario.

"She saved my life." Those were the last words Peter shared with Ans (de Hoyer), his wife of 60 years. Peter was referring to the daughter of a distant relative, who had been dating a German officer. In 1944 Budapest, Peter, along with his mother and grandparents, were pulled out of a rounding up of Jews and survived thanks to the protection of the Spanish Embassy.

Peter came to Canada in 1956 as a refugee, carrying a small bag with necessities provided by the Red Cross. He is deeply missed by his wife, Ans, daughters Aviva and Lilliane, and their beloved vizsla Monty.

Peter was more than a survivor—he believed everything was possible, always finding solutions to challenges. He is remembered as a positive man, a go-getter, with an easy laugh and impish humour.

The family is grateful to the staff of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, the hemodialysis unit, K-wing, TTC Wheel-Trans, support workers, and Sasha for their care and dedication.

A gathering will be planned in the spring to celebrate Peter's memory and keep him in our hearts.
