On Monday, February 10, 2025, Maria "Mary" Vanspronsen Graaskamp passed away peacefully at Guelph General Hospital, at the age of 78.
Maria was born in Monster, Netherlands, on May 31, 1946.
Beloved wife of the late Gerrit (Gary) Willem Graaskamp (Deceased 2013). Mother of Caroline Van Driel (Kevin), Julia Graaskamp, Irene Mills (Jay), Gary Graaskamp (Julia), Nicole Graaskamp, Dorothy Fiorino (Nick), and Rachel Stuart (Bryan). Grandmother to Matthew, Michael, Emily, and Ashley Van Driel, Amber Leigh Graaskamp, Kayla and Dustin Kawczynski, Diana, Victoria, and JJ Mills, Natasha and Lexi Fiorino, Malachi, Trillian, and Mercedes Stuart. Great-grandmother to Aria and Phoenix Van Driel, and Audrey Tucker.
Beloved sister of Coby (Jacoba) Keizer (John), Hendrika Hoekstra (Jake, deceased), Gerda Hoekstra (Dick), Edith Butts (Barry), and the late Abe Vanspronsen (Sue). Beloved sister-in-law of the late Doortje (Henk), the late John Graaskamp, the late Ben Graaskamp (Anne), the late Gerda Visser (Pete), the late Johanna Albers (Pete), and Mientje de Vries (John).
Predeceased by her daughter, Diana Graaskamp (1992), and her parents, Gerrit and Maria Vanspronsen.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South, Fergus, ON, 519-843-3100.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 1:30 PM at Central Pentecostal Church, 7674 Colborne Street, Elora, ON N0B 1S0.
Interment will take place prior to the funeral service at 10:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park, in Guelph, ON.

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Ian MacFarlane Currie, who passed away peacefully in hospital on December 5th, 2024, at the age of 84.
Ian was born in Motherwell, Scotland, to Robert and Elizabeth (Betty) Currie. He was the youngest amongst his siblings, Catherine (Cathie) and David.
Ian will be missed by his son, Fraser; his granddaughter, Isabelle; many nieces and nephews in Scotland; and many friends on the golf course. Ian is predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Nancy; his parents; and his two siblings who both passed earlier this year.
Throughout his life, Ian cherished beach holidays, countless rounds of golf, nights out at the Fergus theatre, and Sunday dinners at the cottage.
Visitation will take place at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home (280 St. David Street South, Fergus, ON) on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 11AM to 1PM. Following the visitation, guests are invited to join the family at the Fergus Royal Canadian Legion (500 Blair St, Fergus, ON) for refreshments.
