Memorial for Steve William Markowski

Steve William Markowski

1937 - November 24, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Steve William Markowski announces his peaceful passing at home on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the age of 87. Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Steve was the son of the late Nick and Mary (Chickowski) Markowski.

Steve was a dedicated businessman, owning and operating Markowski Bulldozing for many years. He was an active member of the Thamesville Legion and the Sertoma Club, where he enjoyed playing euchre, darts, and socializing with friends. He found joy in fishing and spent many happy years with his wife Mary at their cottage in Long Point.

Steve leaves behind his beloved wife of 68 years, Mary (Snary) Markowski, and his loving children Dennis (Dawn), Brenda Myers (Mike), Brian (Mary), Kevin (Wendy), and Sue Myers (Bill). He was a cherished grandfather to Melissa, Jeff (Martha), Diane (Justin), Darryl (Missy), Paul (Drea), Rachelle, Christan (Dan), Rick, Tiffanie, Stacie, Jeremie, and a proud great-grandfather to Mataya, Taryn, Dryden, Ella, Griffin, Josie, Zack, Stella, Georgia, Tommy, Nikola, Alivia, Charlotte, Ariana, and Makenna.

Steve is also survived by his dear brother Dave Markowski (Jean). He was predeceased by his son-in-law Maurice Myers, sisters Gladys and Emily, and his nephew Dan Markowski.

In keeping with Steve’s wishes, a private family service will be held, followed by interment at Mayhew-Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Thamesville. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Thamesville Legion on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and all are welcome to attend.

Donations in Steve’s memory can be made to the Thamesville Legion (32 Victoria Street, Thamesville, ON N0P 2K0) or the Thamesville Sertoma Club (c/o Box 344, Thamesville, ON N0P 2K0). Online condolences may be left at www.badderfuneralhome.com.

Arrangements entrusted to John C. Badder Funeral Home, Thamesville.
