With heavy hearts, the family of Tom Dolanjski announces his peaceful passing on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the age of 92. Tom was a loving and devoted husband to Danica (predeceased 2022) for 64 years. He will be remembered as an exceptional father by his two sons, Tom (Lisa Mackey) and Paul (Carla), and as the best Dede by his grandchildren, Andrea Mulder (Greg), Lucas (Kiana Astaraki), and Mya, and his great-grandchildren, Dylan and Brody Mulder.
He was predeceased by his parents Vladimir and Milka Dolanjski, his brother Vladimir, his sister-in-law Ljuba, and his niece Ljubica. He is survived by his nieces Milica Dolanjski and Ankica Pavkovic (Ivica), as well as his extended family in Croatia, including his sisters-in-law Ankica Mišić and Zorica Vori, brother-in-law Vladimir Iviček, and their loving families.
Tom held deep love for the close-knit Croatian community in Timmins and had many funny stories to share. Born in Sveta Jana, Croatia, in 1932, he moved to Canada in 1957, and Danica followed two years later. He worked as a millwright at the McIntyre Mine and later at Texas Gulf/Kidd Creek until his retirement in 1993. Known for his kindness, Tom was a wonderful neighbor, friend, and exceptionally kind soul who lived a full and happy life.
He will be missed tremendously; his joyous spirit and infectious laughter will be remembered always. The family is comforted in the belief that he is now laughing, dancing, and playing his violin with his departed loved ones.
