Virginia “Ginny” Louise (Marjoram) Murdock
July 12, 1941 - October 22, 2024

Virginia “Ginny” Louise (Marjoram) Murdock, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away suddenly on October 22, 2024, at the age of 83.

Born in Guildford, England, on July 12, 1941, Ginny sailed to Canada in December 1945 with her sister Barbara. She grew up in Toronto and was married to Edgar “Ab” Murdock for 50 years until his passing in 2014. Together, Ginny and Ab raised three sons, Mark (Janice), Colin (Jennifer), and Jim (Wendy), and had six beloved grandchildren: Connor, Quinn, Abigael, Allison, Sophie, and Jameson.

Known for her strength and thrift, Ginny was the heart of her family, raising her sons with unwavering devotion. Her life was later enriched by reconnecting with her half-sister, Theresa. Ginny’s love for historical fiction, baking, knitting, tea, and supporting immigrant families in Ottawa marked her as a vibrant and compassionate soul. Her affection extended to rescue dogs and the occasional stray cat, despite her allergies.

Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Wellington House for their dedicated care, making Ginny’s final years comfortable and filled with kindness.

A private interment service will be held on November 9, 2024, at St. Mark’s Cemetery in Prescott, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you share a meaningful hug with your loved ones in memory of Ginny.
