Dear brother of Mary-Alice and Bill Zister, Chuck Nolan, Joan Schmidt, Rose and Gerry Corrigan, Paula and Ken Work, John and Joanne Nolan, Teresa and Rolo DeMarchi, Nora and Grant Fleming, and Virginia and Rosh Grigg.
Predeceased by his parents, Charlie and Pauline Nolan; brothers-in-law Jerry Schmidt, George Dixon, and Roger Warman; parents-in-law Peter and Audrie Vath; and his best friend, Dennis Merchant. Dan was a quiet, gentle, and kind man who loved his family, friends, and pets. A talented stained-glass artist for nearly 40 years, Dan operated his business from his home studio, where his beautiful creations can now be seen in homes and churches across Ontario.
In addition to his artistry, Dan enjoyed teaching stained glass in night courses at local schools and always lent a hand with home renovation projects. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including walking along Carlsruhe Road or the Sulphur Springs Conservation area with family, friends, and his dog, playing guitar, watching movies, solving puzzles, and baking bread. He cherished the peace of sitting on his porch with a coffee, “watching the world go by.”
A private interment was held at the Holstein Cemetery in the natural burial section. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Dan’s life at the Hanover Curling Club on Saturday, November 23rd, from 1 – 4 p.m.
