Gerald Hanstke passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 88. He is survived by his wife Mildred, children Dana and Sean, and grandchildren Evan and Desmond. Predeceased by his brother William. Peter "Bushman" Koostachin

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Allan Jolly on January 19, 2025, at Kingston General Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones. Allan was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who dedicated his life to his family, his community, and his faith. His legacy of love and kindness will live on through all who knew him.

Madeleine Coderre (née Maillé)

1944 – 2024

The family announces with great sorrow the passing of Madeleine Coderre (née Maillé) at Extendicare Timmins on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the age of 79. Beloved wife of Claude Coderre, Madeleine was a loving and devoted mother to Jean-Louis Lafrenière (Karen) of Kirkland Lake and Normand Lafrenière (Leah) of Timmins.

Madeleine was also a cherished stepmother to Claudette Coderre (Marcel Gagnon), Jean Coderre (Lucie), Paul Coderre (Monique) of Hanmer, Robert Coderre (Linda), and Pierre Coderre (Lise) of Costa Rica. She leaves behind numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

Madeleine is survived by her siblings Jeannine St-Pierre, Denise Marceau, John Maillé, and Rejean Maillé, as well as her sisters-in-law Madeleine, Irene, May, Reina, Yvonne, and Therese, and her brother-in-law Yvon. She will also be remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Leo Lafrenière, her brothers Marcel “Joe,” Gilles, and Gérard, her parents, and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in the Chapel of Miron-Wilson Funeral Home. A reception will follow in the Miron-Wilson Reception Lounge. Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on the same day at Miron-Wilson Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.

Mary Solomon Sutherland

1930 – November 28, 2024

The family announces with great sorrow the passing of Mary Solomon Sutherland at the Golden Manor on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the age of 94 years. She was the loving wife of the late George Gilbert Solomon.

Mary was a devoted mother to Ken Solomon (Mary) and a cherished grandmother to Lexis and April, as well as a proud great-grandmother to Nevaeh. She is also remembered fondly by her son-in-law, William Friday. Predeceased by her beloved daughter, Mary Agnes Friday, Mary will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation: The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. at Miron-Wilson Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins, Ontario.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Theresa Kataquapit. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, and has now joined her late husband, John Kataquapit. Theresa was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose love and kindness touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Theresa is survived by her children Gisele (George), Joseph, Ignace, Maurice (Jackie), Elizabeth (Kenny), Jacqueline (John Peter), Colette (Dennis), Malesh, and Marina. She was a cherished grandmother to Tanya, Winter, Waylon, Skylar, Kurtis, Kanisha, Dylan, Mason, Kane, Tyrell, Jade, Tashina, Brayden, Charlie, Kahlee, and Summer. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Tianna, TJ, Tiara, Quintus, Tessa, Johnny, Khaydis, Tobias, Jaxon, Keira, Kree-lynn, Kennedy, Kaylon, Kendrick, Cedric, Taylor, Bella, Chase, Kyran, Kasen, Remiya, Kameran, Darrian, Jordan, Justice, Kheziah, Aira, Theodore, Blake, and great-great-grandmother to Amari.

Theresa will be deeply missed by her surviving siblings Margaret Cooper (Bill), Nicholas Wheesk (Helen), John Wheesk, George Wheesk (Anne), Joseph Neeswapit, Daniel Wheesk, and Madeline Robinson (Michael Dominic), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Emile, Euphemie, and Nancy Wheesk, her grandchildren Samantha and Taylor, and her great-grandchild Aleigha.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Angels Church in Fort Albany, Ontario, followed by a burial ceremony at Fort Albany Cemetery.
