James Patrick McDonald passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the age of 85, following a brief battle with cancer. He is lovingly remembered by his children, MaryLyn Hardcastle (Greg), Jayme (Anne), Andy (Jannel), and Peter (Jackie), and his cherished grandchildren, Quinn, Mikaylie, Patrick, Sanjae, Bunny, Bobby, Paula, Oshane, Oshawn, Carol-Mae, Justin, Michael, and Daniel, as well as 11 great-grandchildren. James is predeceased by his grandson Kemroy.
James will also be fondly remembered by his siblings Ishbelle (Gilbert) LeBlanc, Judith Bale, Loretta Gallant, Pauline Allen, Ken McDonald, and Arlene McDonald, and his sisters-in-law Carrie McDonald and Patricia McDonald, along with many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, James and Margaret (Robertson) McDonald, his sister Juanita, brothers Ed, Mike, Leo, Bern, and brothers-in-law Frank Dower, Denny Callahan, Ted Bale, Dave Gallant, and Don Allen.
A funeral service will be held at Trenton Wesleyan Church, 274 2nd Dug Hill Road, Trenton, ON, on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 2:00 PM, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Cremation has taken place.
The family extends their gratitude to the Health at Home Palliative Care teams and Hospice Quinte for the compassionate care James received in his final days. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Quinte or a charity of your choice are appreciated.

Evelyn Ruth Underwood Koopman
June 25, 1937 - October 24, 2024
Evelyn “Ruth” Underwood passed away peacefully at the Belleville General Hospital on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the age of 87.
She is survived by her sister, Dale Lehtila (Aatos) of Belleville, and is predeceased by her husband, George Underwood, and her parents, Dorothy and Orlando Olivo. Ruth was a talented and loving sister, known for living life to the fullest. She was passionate about many hobbies, particularly cross-stitching. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and was an avid bowler for many years.
Ruth will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Rest in peace, Ruth. Your loving sister, Dale. Special thanks to the staff at Belleville General Hospital and Ontario Health@Home for their compassionate support over the past six weeks.
In Ruth’s memory, donations may be made to the Belleville General Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society. Cremation has taken place, and the family has requested a private remembrance.
