Lojzka Louise Svetina (née Sustersic)

June 21, 1929 – December 29, 2024

In Loving Memory of Lojzka (Louise) Svetina (née Sustersic), who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home on Sunday, December 29, 2024, in her 96th year. Lojzka was the beloved wife of 67 years of the late Lojze (Louis). She was the loving mother of Christina (Gary Hull), Lucy (Val Končan), and Martha (late Ernie Grziničič). A cherished Mami, Stara Mama, and Super-Stara Mama, she leaves behind her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will always treasure her memory.

Lojzka’s kitchen was the heart of her family, where countless hours were spent sharing love, laughter, and delicious meals. Her tireless dedication to the Slovenian community, through fundraising and helping those in need, will never be forgotten. Her warmth, generosity, and love will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, January 5th, from 4 pm to 8 pm at Ridley Funeral Home, and again on Monday, January 6th, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 am, with interment at Assumption Cemetery, Mississauga.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Dom Lipa or Viktoria Fund, causes that were dear to Lojzka’s heart.

Metaxia Dalamagas

October 22, 1932 – December 30, 2024

We regret to announce the passing of Metaxia Dalamagas at Wesburn Manor in Etobicoke at the age of 92. Beloved wife of Panayiotis. Devoted mother of Constantine and his wife Yvonne. Adored grandmother of Kallista, Karisa, and Maximilian.

Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects at Ridley Funeral Home (3080 Lake Shore Blvd. West) on Thursday, January 2nd, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, Greek Orthodox Cathedral located at 136 Sorauren Avenue on Friday, January 3rd, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery.

Dorothy Anne McLean

February 17, 1941 - December 26, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Anne McLean, who departed this life peacefully at the age of 83. Dorothy is now reunited in heaven with her beloved grandmother, Adina Neptune, whom she cherished deeply. Dorothy’s presence will be sorely missed by her devoted sisters, Agnes and Linda, and her children: Keith (and his wife Hazel), Agnes, Jennie, Mary (and her husband Andrew), Veronique, and Jill.

She leaves behind a loving legacy carried on by her many grandchildren: Crystal, Ron, Ryan, Randy, Nicky, Keldon, Chris (and his wife Nicole), Christopher (and his wife Ewelina), Arlene, Adam, Ariel, Chelsea, Anika (and her husband Phil), Sheena (and her husband Zafar), Stephen (and his wife Paula), T.J, Jae, Delon, Jamieka (and her husband Joey), Victoria, Angelica, Sasha, and Justin, along with her 23 treasured great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Dorothy was a woman of remarkable warmth and dedication, known for her passion for knitting. She lovingly created beautiful keepsakes for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each piece a testament to her care and creativity. She also found comfort in simple joys, such as watching her favourite show, Little House on the Prairie, a tradition that brought her peace and delight.

As the matriarch of her family, Dorothy embodied the values of love, hard work, and resilience. She was a source of guidance and unwavering support, always putting her family’s needs above her own. Her kindness, strength, and unconditional love were constants in the lives of those she touched.

Dorothy’s life was a testament to the power of love and perseverance, and her memory will forever inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, a doting grandmother, and a pillar of her family. Rest in eternal peace, Dorothy. You will be forever in our hearts.

Marie Moher (née Pagniello)

October 31, 1940 - November 8, 2024

With heartfelt sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Marie Moher (Pagniello) on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Village of Humber Heights Retirement Home in Toronto. Surrounded by her loving family, Marie’s presence and warmth brought joy to all who knew her. Beloved wife of the late Patrick Moher, Marie was predeceased by her parents, Rocco and Jennie Pagniello, and her brother Michael and his wife Joanne Pagniello.

Marie leaves behind her two cherished daughters, Andrea (Jay Campbell) and Patty (Daryl Mason), along with her adored grandchildren Shannon, Charlie, Mia, and Max, who were her pride and joy. She will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

A dedicated registered nurse, Marie worked at St. Michael’s Hospital and spent a year working in a psychiatric ward in New York City. After bravely overcoming a serious brain tumor, she retired from nursing to devote herself to her family, leaving a lasting impact on her daughters Andrea and Patty. Marie was a strong woman who loved animals, especially her family dogs, and enjoyed moments of relaxation by the pool, watching her favorite Blue Jays and Argos games. She and her late husband Pat found joy in annual vacations to the Islands, where they could walk the beaches and spend time at the casino.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation at Ridley Funeral Home on Friday, November 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by a service at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel. A Celebration of Life reception will be held afterward at Lambton Golf and Country Club at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, a cause dear to Marie’s heart. May she rest in peace, forever in our hearts.

Marija "Mary" Runtic

March 20, 1933 - November 7, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Marija “Mary” Runtic on November 7, 2024. Her love, strength, and spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Mary spent her life caring for her family and dedicated her faith to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church. Born as one of nine children to Marija and Nikola Metez in Nova Lipa, Slovenia, Mary was a guiding light to her family and friends.

She is reunited with her late husband, Joseph Runtic, and her beloved sons, Joseph and Ralph Runtic. Mary leaves behind her cherished children, Mike Runtic, Mary Grieco (Angelo Grieco), and David Runtic. She was a loving grandmother to Ryan, Joey, Emily, Melissa, Michael, and Matthew. Mary is also survived by her dear siblings, Ana, Jure, Katarina, Danica, Lojze, Barbara, Frances, and Miko, who will miss her dearly.

Mary was the heart of her family, known for her warmth, wisdom, and boundless love. Her legacy of kindness, faith, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of her extended family and friends, who will remember her deeply and miss her greatly.

Friends and family will be received at Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W., Toronto, on Friday, November 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 739 Browns Line, on Saturday, November 16, at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Mt. Peace Cemetery, 3204 Cawthra Road, Mississauga.

Jean McInnis
October 12, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean McInnis, with her family by her side, on October 12, 2024, at the age of 93. Jean is reunited with her husbands, James Primeau (1978) and Neil McInnis (2000), and her daughters, Terri Raffoul (2023) and Virginia Deveau (2024). She was a dear and devoted mother to Linda (Roger) St. Denis, Michael Primeau (Debbie Peyton), Louise Primeau, Jeanette (Gord) Gascoyne, and Chris Primeau. Jean was also a longtime guardian to the late Shirley Leckey (1974).

Jean will be sincerely missed by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Sun Parlour Home for their loving care of Jean during her stay.

Visitation will be held at Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell Street, Leamington, ON (519-326-2631), on Monday, October 14, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.
