Raymond Rowley

1933 – December 31, 2024

Peacefully, with the love of his family by his side, at Matthews House Hospice, Alliston, on December 31, 2024, Ray Rowley passed away at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Edith Rowley (née Crawley). Loving father of David, John (Darleen), and the late Marilyn Rose (Robert McGovern). He will be sadly missed by his 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Ray was a dear brother to Jean (the late Bill), the late Elwood (the late Jackie), Norma, Bill (Mildred), Lorna (Hank), and the late Donna. He will forever remain in the hearts of his extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham, on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 4 pm. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Cliffside Hall. Private family interment will take place at a later date.

In memory of Ray, donations to Matthews House Hospice would be appreciated. Condolences and memories may be left for the family at Rod Abrams Funeral Home.

Gwendolyn Elizabeth Gagnon

1926 - 2024

Born in Beeton to parents George Brown and Belva Julia (née Satermo), Gwendolyn Elizabeth Gagnon (née Wray) was a longtime school teacher with the Toronto Board of Education. She was known for her love of gardening, music, ballroom dancing, and playing bridge.

Predeceased by her brothers RJ, Jimmy, and Paul, Gwen will be deeply missed by her family and friends, as well as the numerous birds, squirrels, and chipmunks in her backyard.

Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham, 905-936-3477, on Friday, January 3, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service in the chapel at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in the funeral home’s Cliffside Hall.

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Michael John Kirk, age 72, on November 30, 2024. Michael was a devoted companion and friend, whose passion for life and dedication to his loved ones will be fondly remembered.

Michael is survived by his long-time partner of 35 years, Barbara Woodruff, stepdaughter Nicole Da Costa (Woodruff), and beloved granddaughter Natalie Da Costa. He was a cherished presence in the lives of those who knew him, known for his generosity, humor, and deep love for his family.

A true enthusiast of classic cars, Michael’s pride and joy was his 1934 Ford Coupe, which he lovingly built and restored. He was an active member of the Aurora Classic Car Club, Alliston’s Recycled Teenagers, and Bradford’s Back Alley Cruisers. His contributions to the car community and passion for car shows will be fondly remembered.

Michael’s life was also marked by his care for his home in Tottenham, where he kept his property immaculate. His kindness and unwavering support for loved ones touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of friendship and generosity.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County or Parkinson’s Society are appreciated.
