Allen Edward Brown

Monday, November 11th, 2024

Allen Edward Brown, age 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Glenhill Strathaven Long-Term Care in Bowmanville, where he resided for the past 8 years. Better known as Al, he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Brown (nee Anderson).

Loving father of Richard Brown and his spouse Sheri Willoughby, and grandpa to their two sons, Logan and Zachary. Loving father of Alanna Hillion (nee Brown) and her spouse Stephen Hillion, and adoring grampa of Kaicey and her spouse Amber, as well as great grampa of their daughter Maeve Allen.

Allen was a caring man who always put those he loved first. He enjoyed days spent out fishing and was a sports lover who cherished watching his children and grandchildren play sports in his later years. He will be greatly missed by many. Al’s valiant eight-year struggle with dementia has come to an end, and he has spread his wings and moved on to a better place.

The family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to the caregivers at Glenhill Strathaven’s Cedar Wing for their exceptional care, compassion, and love toward Allen during his residency. Your commitment holds a lasting place in our hearts, and we will forever be grateful.

Private family arrangements have been made. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated and may be received at www.rossfuneralchapel.com.
