Yvon Charles Norman Lalonde passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025, in Espanola, Ontario, at the age of 84. A funeral mass will take place at Saint Alexander Church in Chelmsford on January 16, 2025. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation are appreciated. Larry Lambro Nicolas Gatsos passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024, at the age of 70, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was known for his compassion, kindness, and love for music. It is with sadness that the family of James Verdun Wiskin announce his passing in Espanola on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the age of 85 years. Son of the late James Wiskin Sr. and the late Evelyn Wiskin (née Molton). Husband of the late Donna Ann Wiskin (née Hamilton).
Loving father of Nancy, Karen, and Kimberley. He will also be missed and lovingly remembered by his ten grandchildren, as well as by his five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters.
James, a.k.a Jimmy the Picker, was a music man who enjoyed playing guitar at Molly Blooms Irish Pub.

In loving memory of Alice Elise Lafrance Poulin (née Lafrance), who passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, at the age of 88. Alice was the daughter of Albert Lafrance (predeceased) and Florence Chaloux (predeceased), and the beloved wife of Edgar Poulin (predeceased). Loving mother of four sons: Richard, Danny, Mike (Colette Godin), and Rob. Cherished sister to Lorraine Ouimette, Liliane Berube, Cecile Bissaillon (predeceased), Jill McLeod (predeceased), and Norman Lafrance (predeceased). Proud grandmother and great-grandmother to nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Daniel, Michel, Genevieve, Janique, Ian, Les, David, Madeleine, Steven (predeceased), Bastien, and Brielle.
Alice was a source of calmness and peace to all who knew her. She radiated love, generosity, and acceptance, welcoming everyone who visited her home, including neighbors, friends, and even the local pets. Known for her wisdom and selflessness, Alice always put the needs of others first. Her passion for blueberry picking, love for nature, and keen sense of being in tune with others’ emotions made her truly special.

Catherine McLean Vallely
January 9, 1945 – October 9, 2024
It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Catherine (Cathy) Vallely (née McLean), a beloved mother, wife, nana, sister, aunt, and friend, on October 9, 2024, at the age of 79. Cathy passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 9, 1945, in Glasgow, Scotland, Cathy was the daughter of Hugh and Mary Ann McLean (née Mcdonald Sherrit). She grew up in Glasgow and moved to Canada in 1967, where she built a life full of love, dedication, and generosity. Cathy will be remembered for her kindness, joyful spirit, bond with her many dogs, and impeccable fashion sense!
She was a devoted wife to her late husband Peter (her "Petey Pie") and a dedicated mother to Isobel (Jay), Angela (Bobby), Brad (Carrie), and John (Jen). Cathy was also a loving nana to Gabriel, Zachary, Jacob, Sofia, and Nyah. Her family fondly remembers her cooking, baking, and the time spent on Sunday hikes, holidays, and birthday celebrations. She is also survived by her siblings Isobel Toshner and John McLean (Scotland), as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Cathy’s legacy of love, warmth, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who knew her. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Pioneer Manor Care Team for their exceptional care.
A service to honor Cathy McLean-Vallely will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Le Rendez-Vous De Vallee Est in Hanmer at 11:00 a.m., followed by an afternoon tea.
