Greta Lee Mary van der Grinten, aged 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Fred van der Grinten, Greta was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a passion for cooking, bingo, and bowling. Cremation has taken place, and no services will be held as per her wishes. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are welcomed.

With profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Richard Wayne Carron on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the age of 55.
Richard is lovingly survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Sherry Carron, his soulmate and best friend. He was the proud and loving father of Tiffany and Rebecca Carron and the adoring Papa to his grandchildren: Brooklyn, Hailey, Loghan, Keira, Bentley, Avery, Quinton, and Aalyrah. He is also remembered by his parents, Raylene and Terry Carron, and his siblings, Terry Sr., Terrilynn, Tammy, Michelle, Connie, Mark, Beth, and Walter. His loyal dog, Tika, will miss him dearly, as will his extended family and countless friends.
A man of immense generosity, Richard was always the first to lend a helping hand, whether to a close friend or a complete stranger. He was a devoted family man whose life revolved around his loved ones. Richard embraced life’s simple pleasures and approached everything with passion and skill. From hunting and fishing to sewing dresses or baking wedding cakes, his talents were endless.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to Richard’s visitation on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 3:00–6:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Stock (née Tobin). Nancy passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024, at Bear Creek Terrace in Petrolia, at the age of 85.
Loving mother of Jeffery Stock, Jennifer Green-Stock, and Greg (Cheryl) Stock. Cherished grandmother to Cameron (Haleigh), Patrick (Amy), Joey, and Maddison (Dyllon), and adoring great-grandmother to two great-grandchildren.
Nancy was born to Thomas and Cecile (Levesque) Tobin in Edmundston, NB, as part of a large family of 13 siblings. She was predeceased by her brothers Leo, Ray, Al, Ron, Gord, and Jackie; and sisters Noreen, Pat, Marlene, and Dorothea. She is lovingly remembered by her brother Tom (Tobey), sister Terena, brother-in-law Chuck, and many nieces and nephews.
Nancy was a devoted and hardworking mother, known for her love of gardening, bowling, and old-school country music. Her career saw her rise from housekeeping to management at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She also dedicated time to community volunteering with the Heart & Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society.
A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, with a luncheon afterward at the Moose Lodge.

Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, Robert Alan McNickle went to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 59.
Dear brother of Patricia Joseph (the late Allan Sr.), Gary L. McNickle, Steven L. McNickle, and Jeffrey A. McNickle. Predeceased by his parents Harvey T. Jr. and (Beulah) Leila McNickle, and grandparents Herbert (Leonard) and Iris Plain (Oliver). Robert will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Known for his peaceful demeanor and love for music, Robert cherished his family and had a great sense of humor that brought joy to those around him. His faith was central to his life, and his Pentecostal upbringing shaped his values and kindness.
A funeral service will be held at Maawn Doosh Gumig Community Centre, 1972 Virgil Ave., Sarnia, on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation starting at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Aamjiwnaang Cemetery.

It is with saddened hearts that the family announces the passing of Chelsea Lynn Ell-Byman on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the age of 36.
Chelsea was the cherished mother of Emily Byman, Ethan Byman, Sarah Leijenhorst, Lila Gardner, Elijah Gardner, and step-son Brenden Hendrie. She was a loving daughter to Carrie Greer and step-father Ken Greer, and a dear sister to Brendan Ell, Draven Greer, and Sydney Greer. Chelsea is fondly remembered by her grandmother Diana Zub and by countless nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her late husband Rikki Byman and her father Donald Ell. She will be deeply missed by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Chelsea loved being a mother to her children, who will miss her every day. Cremation has taken place, and a date for a celebration of Chelsea’s life will be determined at a later time.

Bernice Joyce Brunton (née Garrison) passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the age of 94. Bernice was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Brunton; her daughter, Gail Robinson; her brother, George Garrison; and her parents, Cecil and Flo Garrison. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Rob Young and Ray Young (Maureen), Carol, and Susan Brunton. Proud Nana to Wayne, Kristin (Brian), Jennah, Cole, Tania (Alex), Amy (Ed), Laura, Rylee, Connor, Stephanie, and Tavis. She was a cherished Great Nana to 15 great-grandchildren.
Bernice spent her early years in Hamilton and London before settling in Sarnia. She was a proud member of the original kickline at the SCITS High School Revue, and throughout her life, she loved dancing, curling, and golfing. Known for her vibrant spirit, she hosted memorable summer pool parties and enjoyed neighborhood gatherings and annual trips to Florida. Bernice was a loving, straightforward woman who enjoyed a laugh, a game, or a toast with her grandchildren. Her motto, “What is life, if you can’t have fun?” will remain in the hearts of her family.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Bluewater Health’s Medicine and Palliative Floors for their compassionate care of “Nan” during the past month. In keeping with Bernice’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or memorial service. A private family interment will be held.
