Albert Dennis Hunter

On Saturday, January 4th, 2025, in his 91st year, Albert Dennis Hunter passed away with his wife Lois (nee Noble) of 55 years by his side.

Albert was the cherished father of Sharon (Larry Foster) of Ottawa, Carolyn (Ryan Harrison) of Port Elgin, and was predeceased by his son Dennis. He was born in Strathclair, Manitoba, and was a proud resident of Port Elgin for over 50 years.

Albert enjoyed daily walks downtown, Port Elgin Pumpkinfest, long drives with his wife, attending Highland Games to watch his daughters compete, and curling. A retired union member of Local 46, Albert worked as a steamfitter by trade. He will be remembered as a kind and sensitive soul.

Private interment will take place at Sanctuary Park Cemetery, Port Elgin. Donations in Albert’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Eileen Barbara Biener

December 16, 2024

Peacefully, at the Southampton Care Centre on Monday, December 16, 2024, in her 89th year. Eileen, loving aunt of Mary Lynne Biener and her partner Sean Beesley, Terry Biener and his wife Pat, Kim Smith and her husband Steve, and Michele Cook and her partner Daryl Adams. Special Great Aunt of Grace. Dear sister-in-law of Elsbeth Biener. Eileen will be lovingly remembered by her great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mary Biener, and her brothers Joseph Biener Jr., and Frank Biener.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Southampton Care Centre for their excellent care of Eileen.

Elli Theresa Altrock Kennedy

November 27, 1929 - November 28, 2024

Peacefully, with family by her side at Brightshores Health System, Southampton, Elli Theresa Altrock Kennedy passed away as she began her 96th year. She was the loving wife of the late Malcolm Kennedy and devoted mother to Karin (Henry Zottl), Lloyd (Susan), Carleton, Wendy, and Suzanne.

Cherished Oma to Brad, Theresa (Harmon), James (Danielle), Laura, Nathan (Taylor), and Roy. Proud Uroma to Leo. Elli’s legacy of love and strength will be treasured by her family and all who knew her.

Born in Königsberg, Germany (East Prussia), Elli’s early life was shaped by World War II, after which she immigrated to Canada, where she met her husband Malcolm. Together they built a family and a life full of love, advocacy, and community involvement in Southampton, Ontario. Elli served passionately on the Board of Directors for Community Living and town councils, leaving a lasting impact.

Elli’s joys included gardening, sewing, reading, and time spent in her beautiful garden. Her quick wit, warm heart, and vibrant spirit will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local food bank or a charity of your choice. A service for friends will be held at the Chapel at Elgin Lodge, with details to be announced. A spring Celebration of Life and family interment are also planned.
