Hendrik “Henry” Van Lingen

1952 - November 24, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Hendrik “Henry” Van Lingen on Sunday, November 24, 2024, in Cache Bay, Ontario, at the age of 72 years.

Henry was the cherished brother of Fred Van Lingen. He is predeceased by his siblings Melvin, Andy, Clarence, and Edith. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends.

A celebration of Henry’s life will be announced at a later date. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Theoret-Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls.

If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Legion Branch 225, Sturgeon Falls, would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Angela Vézina (née Lee)

1947 - November 14, 2024

The family announces with sorrow the passing of Angela Vézina (née Lee) on Thursday, November 14, 2024, in Sturgeon Falls, at the age of 77. Angela’s warmth and vibrant personality were a beacon of light to all who knew her.

Born to the late Augustus and Frances (née Baker), Angela’s Newfoundland roots remained strong throughout her life. She loved fishing, baking fresh bread, and was always up for a lively poker game. Her sense of humour was unmatched, and her home was a haven of laughter and love. Above all, she adored her family, especially her cherished grandchildren.

Angela is survived by her beloved husband, Willie, and her loving children: Frances Mageau (Gary), Carol Vézina-Giroux (Stéphane), and Nicole Martin (Allain). She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Maxine, Brianne, Kyle (Jordan), Kalan, Joël (Jasmine), and Gavin. She was a dear sister to Carol Courtney (Harold), Theresa Fleming (Doug), Mary Sand (Mick), and Bob (late Dot). Angela is predeceased by her siblings Gus (Marg), John (Barb), Barbara Barten (late Bill), Irene Chafe (late John), Wish Baker (late Clara), and Kay Vaughn (late Frank).

Family and friends are invited to visitation at the Theoret-Bourgeois Funeral Home in Sturgeon Falls on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of life in the chapel at 11:00 a.m.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Au Château, particularly those in the Lilac Suite, for their compassionate care during Angela’s final days.

Angela will be lovingly remembered for her kindness, laughter, and the deep love she shared with everyone in her life.
