Glenna Mae Breckenridge

1946 - 2025

In Loving Memory

Glenna Mae Breckenridge’s life on earth concluded peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Frost Manor, Lindsay, Ontario, surrounded by love, comfort, and song in the company of her husband Bob Breckenridge and her daughter Charmyn Lawton.

Glenna Mae is survived by her loving husband, “Bob” Robert Breckenridge, and is remembered by all those who supported her throughout the joys and challenges of her life journey. A farm girl at heart, Glenna Mae was dedicated to teaching, music, advocacy, travel, and raising her beloved poodles. Raised in Cannington, Ontario, she married Ken Lawton and built her lifelong home in Manilla, Ontario, where together they raised their daughters.

Her passion for education, especially teaching children with exceptionalities, was a cornerstone of her identity. She began her career at Bayview Heights Public School and Cannington Public School, later teaching at Grove School (Sunnydale Home for Children Site), Scott Central Public School, and Cartwright Public School before retiring in 1999.

In retirement, Glenna Mae returned to her love of animals, breeding Standard Poodles that provided companionship to families across North America.

In 2006, she met and married Bob Breckenridge and welcomed into her life Bob’s children Mark (Jennifer), Jennifer, granddaughter Riley, and his sister Mary. Together, Glenna Mae and Bob embraced a life of dancing, music, and travel, making cherished memories from the fields of Ontario to the mountains of Alaska and the warmth of Florida and Arizona.

A survivor of childhood trauma, Glenna Mae’s tenacity, persistence, and drive fueled her advocacy for child abuse prevention. When dementia took hold in her final years, Bob lovingly cared for her at home while they continued to travel, dance, and enjoy good music. In her last year, she was surrounded by the kind and compassionate care of the dedicated staff at Frost Manor, where Bob visited devotedly, often accompanied by his sister Mary.

Nellie Angela "Joey" Imhoff

July 7, 1926 - February 10, 2025

In Loving Memory

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Nellie Angela “Joey” Imhoff (née Danylak), who passed away peacefully at home on February 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She lived 98 remarkable years, leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and kindness that will forever be cherished.

Born on July 7, 1926, in Alberta, Canada, Nellie was known to all as Joey, a name that became synonymous with warmth, generosity, and a heart full of love. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was affectionately called Nanny, a role she embraced with endless devotion and joy. Her home was a place of laughter, comfort, eggs on toast, and cherished memories, where everyone felt welcome.

She was predeceased by her husband, Emery Imhoff (1997), and leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her memory: her daughters Lois Adams (Doug) and Rachelle Bozzo (Mike).

Joey was a proud and devoted grandmother to Ryan (Dannielle), Todd (Genine), Amanda (Johnny), Kayla, Deanne, and Kevin. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Owen, Liam, Myah, Hailey, Noah, Austin, Avery, Mykeala, Drake, and Karter, all of whom brought her immense joy.

Joey’s kindness and strength touched the lives of many, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. While we grieve her passing, we find comfort in knowing she lived a full and meaningful life, and that her spirit will always be with us.

A celebration of her life will be held on February 22, 2025, at the residence of her daughter, Lois, where she resided in her later years—a place she always felt at home, surrounded by her family.

We will miss her dearly, but we are forever grateful for the love she gave and the lessons she taught us. Rest in peace, Nanny. You will always be in our hearts.

"That’s for nothing, now start something."

EATON, Mike Eaton

January 22, 2025

Passed away suddenly, but not unexpectedly, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the age of 77. Mike is survived by his life partner, Brenda Warrington, as well as her children; Chantal, Danielle and Luke, and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Sylvia. Brother to David and Richard. Godfather to Barrett (predeceased), Aja, Kane and Heron.

Born in Jamaica and raised in West Hill, Mike became part of the 1960’s through 1980’s Toronto music scene, playing guitar and co-writing songs with John Carr. A Florist by trade, Mike worked with his Mom at her West Hill Florist shop, taking over operation of the business when she retired, eventually owning his own shop in Scarborough.

Mike’s peculiar, and often off-colour, sense of humour remained with him throughout his life, most recently entertaining and challenging the staff at Bon Air LTC in Cannington, to whom we are grateful for the care given, and kindness shown to Mike.

There will be no funeral. Mike will be laid to rest in St. Margaret’s-in-the-Pines Cemetery in West Hill. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.thornefuneralhome.ca
