Mary Selena Collins

December 31, 1936 – November 23, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Selena Collins announce her passing on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Kingston General Hospital at the age of 87. Born on December 31, 1936, Mary was part of a large family and cherished her siblings Joyce, Floyd, Lynda Gail, Geraldine, Evelyn, Mitch, Lilian, Laura, and Grace.

Mary is lovingly remembered by her granddaughter Rebecca (Sheldon) and great-grandsons Logan and Alex. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Carl, daughter Pam, and son Michael.

A strong advocate for mental health, Mary dedicated much of her life to the Schizophrenia Society, where she served as president for many years. Her efforts left a lasting impact on the community and continue to benefit those living with mental health challenges.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the incredible staff at Kingston General Hospital for their kindness and professionalism, which brought joy and comfort to Mary during her final days.

Funeral services will take place at Trousdale's Funeral Home in Sydenham, Ontario, on Saturday, November 30, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. and a service to follow at 12:00 noon, officiated by Oscar Simpson.
