Glen GallowayGALLOWAY, Glen William -
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glen Galloway, who left us at the age of 55 on August 30, 2024.

Glen was a kind and generous man, he had a laugh that could fill a room and a kind hearted soul that was always ready to offer a helping hand to anyone in need.

Glen had a passion for life, whether it was a love for anything adorned with skulls or a readiness to party and enjoy the company of loved ones and friends, Glen lived life to the fullest.

He is survived by his beloved mother Linda and stepfather Jim, his sister Terri, along with her husband Dave, and his nephew Tyler and niece Kallie, will forever cherish the memories they shared. Glen was preceded in death by his father, Jack, who he has now joined in peace.

While we mourn the loss of a beautiful spirit, we find comfort in knowing that Glen is now at rest. His laughter, kindness, and zest for life will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at W. C. Town Funeral Chapel, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby. (905) 668-3410

Andrew ThompsonTHOMPSON, Andrew Murray – Tuesday, July 8th, 1975 - Saturday, August 31st, 2024
Peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa with his wife and sister by his side following a courageous battle with Glioblastoma.

Survived by his best friend and beloved wife, April (née Stauffer). He was an amazing father to son, Luke. He was the middle child of Murray and Sharion Thompson (née Herdman) and thoroughly embraced that role through his independent and sometimes contrary nature. He will be dearly missed by his big sister Lucinda (Arden) and younger brother Neil (Marlene). His many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours will remember him for his kind heart, helpful nature and when needed brutal honesty, always delivered with humour and love. Andrew will be missed by his dog Daisy, who is proud to have converted him to dog-person. He was predeceased by his cat Seamus, who we are sure is happy to have his favorite lap now available.

Andrew was an avid athlete in his youth and was especially proud of passing on this legacy to his son Luke. Andrew worked locally in the Grocery industry for over 30 years. In this role he was a mentor to many, always teaching and passing on his love of learning to others.

Andrew loved to learn, which he demonstrated over the years by teaching himself skills ranging from 3D animation to audio equipment repair to construction. He was a quintessential Dad and loved being called on to fix things or DJ at the school events. Above all, Andrew always put the needs of others above his own and never wanted attention on his own accomplishments or generosity.

Special thanks to our Durham West Home Palliative Team, especially Corrine, Melissa and Sondra who helped make these last few months more comfortable. The loving care of the Lakeridge Health Oshawa Palliative Team will always be remembered, as they eased Andrew’s transition to be as peaceful as possible. The Neuro-Oncology team in The Pencer Brain Tumour Centre at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre fought with us to beat the odds and give us more than 2 years with Andrew. A special thank you to Dr. Barbara Ann Miller, our radiation oncologist, for her ongoing support and candor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre in Oshawa or a fund to support Luke’s athletic aspirations and education through transfers to andrew_m_t@hotmail.com. A Celebration of Life will be held at W.C. Town Funeral Chapel, 110 Dundas Street East, on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 3 to 6pm.

LaLONDE, Catherine "Rena" (nee Donaldson)

August 10, 1928 – June 30, 2024

Mom has shouted “BINGO!” for the last time. Rena (or “Auntie” – as many called her) died peacefully in her sleep at the young age of 95, only 41 days shy of her 96th birthday. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Rena was the middle of 11 children.
