It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dooley Timothy Paul Thompson, surrounded by his family, on Monday, December 16th, 2024, at his residence at the age of 65 years. Loving father of Christie Boots (Arnold Printup). Cherished grandfather of Shelby and Max Lajoie. Treasured brother of Leona Thompson-David (Michael), Lynn Lafrance (late George), Gerald Thompson (Lori), and Ronald Thompson. Dear godfather of Mary Lafrance and Tanner Lafrance. Chosen father of Shaylin Thompson and Taylor Adeline, and chosen brother of Cam Goodman. He is predeceased by his parents Phillip Thompson and Mary Benedict and by his siblings Dennis Thompson and John Thompson.
Chief Thompson served the community of Akwesasne (Kana:takon) for seven terms as a District Chief and from 2006-2009 as a Grand Chief for Mohawk Council of Akwesasne. He also served as Chair of the Independent First Nations Executive Committee, representing 12 First Nations of Ontario. He was a great advocate for elders and was known for his kindness and dedication to his community.
Dooley’s family will welcome loved ones and friends at the Akwesasne Homemaker Center, 1126 River Road, Akwesasne, QC, from 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 19th, 2024. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Noon in St. Regis Mission Catholic Church, followed by cremation and a spring burial. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jamie Ernest John Whaley, who passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the age of 47. Jamie was the beloved husband of Stacey Whaley and the loving father of Brooke Paige Whaley and Cole James Whaley.
Jamie was a devoted son to Bev Whaley and grandson of Dorothy Moss. He will be dearly missed by his sister Amy Whaley (Rob Young), his nephew Brett Whaley, and his great-niece Summer Whaley. Jamie will also be fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his father, James “Jim” Whaley, in 2022.
Cremation has taken place. Jamie’s family will receive friends at Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A private family service will follow. Memorial donations in Jamie’s memory may be made to the Royal Ottawa Hospital.

Beloved partner of Patrick Ackroyd, Sara was a cherished mother to Kaleb Levesque. She was the loving daughter of Sandra Clark (Brent Hayes) and the late Scott Williamson (Yvette Delorme-Williamson). Sara will be forever adored by her sister, Jennifer Williamson (Micheal Boyer), and her niece, Marin Boyer.

She was a proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren and a treasured great-grandmother of 21 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Martin Fortier and Gail Lemieux (late Regis). Shirley is predeceased by her devoted husband Gordon Lough, her son Derek, her parents George and Florance Passant (née Martin), and her brother Leonard Fortin (Nicole).
Shirley’s life was defined by her ability to bring warmth and light to those around her. Her legacy of love and resilience lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of Shirley's life will be held on November 30, 2024, at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Martintown, Ontario, at 11 a.m. Light refreshments will follow the service, providing an opportunity for family and friends to gather in remembrance. Following the service, Shirley’s ashes will be lovingly interred in North Branch Cemetery.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kira Contessa Garnett on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the age of 39 after a long and courageous battle with Muscular Dystrophy.
Kira was the beloved daughter of Nancy Garnett and Cecil Marsolais, and the dear sister of Justin Garnett and Pam (Dave) Marsolais. She was the cherished granddaughter of Mike and Judy Ribo and the late Roy and Grace Linden. Kira will be remembered fondly by her many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family members, including John (Burna) Linden, Ernie (Carol) Linden, Bob (Shanon) Linden, Earl (Sharon) Linden, Harold (Donna) Linden, Ann Taylor, Susan (Peter) Fanjoy, Donna (Randy) Munford, James (Theresa) Marsolais, Bruce (Marylin) Cameron, Ricky Marsolais, Holly Marsolais, Nola Marsolais, and Bernedette Marsolais. She is predeceased by Nina & Thomas Parlee and Little Rose.
Kira shared a special bond with her dear friend Karen Wattie, who stood by her side through every challenge and triumph. Her warmth, courage, and love will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall, followed by a chapel service.
