Patricia "Pat" Boddy

January 28, 1926 – March 14, 2025

Pat passed away peacefully on March 14th, 2025, at The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County in her 100th year following a brief illness. Born in Toronto to Maurice V. and Margaret (Rushman) Pougnet on January 28, 1926. Spouse of the late R. Leigh Boddy (1986).

Between Toronto, Montreal, and her hometown of Windsor, Pat raised six children: Janice Boddy; Carol Eldred (William, 2022), Maureen Larabee (Stan), Michael (Helen), Mark, and David (Sharon). Pat was the loving Grandma of Matthew (Sarah), Jordan (David), Jamie (Leath), Ryan (Brianne), Aaron, Colin, Christopher, Mitchell, and Lauren. Proud “Grandma One” of Harper, Austin, Quinn, Georgia, Scarlett, Delaney, Oakley, Ethan, Lucy, Owen, Bentley, Jack, Harley, and James.

Pat was predeceased by her sisters Elizabeth (Bette) Sauve of Belle River (2021), and Marie Wilson of Windsor (2023) – her best friend and long-time tennis and travel partner. She is survived by her brother, Maurice J. (Maurie) Pougnet of Windsor, and by numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

Pat was an avid sports fan and a champion tennis player in her youth. After graduating from Walkerville Collegiate, she attended the University of Toronto, where she specialized in physical education. Following university, she taught high school in Orillia and Loretto Abbey in Toronto.

Pat enjoyed many years of international travel with her sisters and friends and in later years became a snowbird, wintering in Florida and Southern California. She spent her retirement in Belle River on Lake Saint Clair before moving into Chartwell Saint Clair Beach Retirement Residence where she continued to enjoy her lovely lakeside sunsets. At Chartwell, she was an inspiration to fellow residents and staff as, well into her 90s, she made a daily trek to the gym to work out on the exercise machines. Her passion for golf and baseball (especially her beloved Blue Jays) was legendary. Her thoughtfulness and memory of residents’ names and circumstances delighted those who met her. She was beloved by staff and residents alike.

Although she lived a long life, she was taken from us too soon. Pat’s family greatly appreciates the care and many kindnesses shown by the doctors and nurses on 4W Windsor Metropolitan Regional Hospital. We are also extremely grateful to the doctors, nurses, PSWs, volunteers, and staff of Windsor Hospice where she spent her final month – our sincere thanks to you all, not only for your care of Mom but for also for your concern and compassion for our family. Your support on our difficult journey was amazing.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – South Chapel, 3048 Dougall Avenue (519-253-7236) on Monday, March 17 at 10:30 am until the time of service in the chapel at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.

As a tribute to Pat, if you so desire, the family requests that donations be made to the Hospice of Windsor & Essex County (6038 Empress Street, Windsor, Ontario).

Wally (Wallace) Floyd Fitch

June 29, 1948 - March 15, 2025

On March 15, 2025, heaven welcomed Wally (Wallace) Floyd Fitch. He was a cherished and devoted husband to his wife Susan of 50 years. He was a beloved father to daughter Shauna (Tom) Skinner and son Brandon (Elizabeth). A dear son-in-law to Merton Pleadwell and the late Dorothy Pleadwell. He was an adored pappa by his six grandchildren, Christian, Caleb, Curtis, Victoria, Noah, and Gracelyn.

What a reunion in heaven it would have been when he was reunited with his late father, Floyd, mother, Kay, and sister, Linda Daniels.

In his early career, you would have found Wally in the electronics department of Sears, and then for years after that, you would’ve seen him behind the video camera and editing equipment, capturing people’s precious memories. At Windsor Raceway, he managed several cameras, teams, and schedules, where many people loved him.

Parkwood, formerly University Gospel Temple, was his church home, where he was committed and instrumental in running the sound booth back in his younger days. He loved music. The Imperials, the Gaithers, Russ Taff, and Phil Driscoll were among his favorites. Everyone loved Wally. He was always joking around—he loved to see people laugh and smile, especially his grandkids. We will miss him more than words can say.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel – Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd E) on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to Parkwood Gospel Church on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, for visitation from 10:30 am until the time of service at 11:30 am. Burial to follow at Victoria Memorial Garden Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to support his family during this difficult time would be appreciated. Your love and support mean the world to us.
