GIBBONS, Roger Thomas – After battling cancer Roger passed away in his 66th year in Owen Sound, on Wednesday, October 28,2015.
He was born on December 21, 1949 in Southampton, Ontario .
Roger finally laid down his welding tools! Well known to be one of the finest welders in the area, with no blueprints or patterns he built a stone crusher, screening plant, conveyer and also nearly finished his latest project a wood processing machine, plus many other welding jobs for so many people.
Predeceased by his parents Reg and Marietta Gibbons and brother Billy and sister in law Marlene Gibbons.
He will be missed greatly by his twin brother, Ronald James, sister Eleanor Petrie, brothers Frank, and Murray and Edith, and sister in law Mary Moore Gibbons, his daughter Tammy and Jeff Serran of North Bay, and grandchildren Courtney and Justin.
Also many nieces and nephews and friends Bob Calhoun and Wayne Prange.
Well known for his musical talent, he loved to entertain for his friends.
A Celebration of Life is to be held at the Living Hope Church in Port Elgin ( old high school Maple Square Mall on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 2 p.m. A time of service and fellowship, anyone who wants to share memories are welcome, with refreshments served after the service. Roger’s ashes will be buried in Southampton at a later date.
Donations to the Cancer Society or the Living Hope Church would be greatly appreciated instead of flowers.
