GRANT, Joan Ann (Campbell) Grant Obituary
GRANT, Joan Ann (nee Campbell) – On October 21, 2015, at Bluewater Health in Sarnia, Joan went home to her Lord and Saviour.
She was born on November 11, 1937, a twin to Joyce Cherry. Joan is predeceased by her parents Daniel and Gertrude Campbell. On August 22, 1959, Joan married, and is survived by her loving husband, Edward Grant of Sarnia. She is survived by their four children: Mark (Judy) Grant, Lori (Jeff) Webb, Steve Grant (Jenny Chalcraft), and Lisa (Doyle) Downie.
Joan dearly loved her 11 grandchildren: Andre Demers, Norma (Aaron) Nolet, Spencer Holleran, Taylor Webb, Brock Webb, Julianna Grant, James Grant, Ayleigh Grant, Raelyn Downie, Rylee Downie, Ruben Downie and her 5 great grand children: Vanessa Dykstra, Victoria Demers, Sebastian Demers, Nick Nolet and Payton Nolet.
Joan is survived by her sisters Isabelle Zink and Nancy (Les) Zimmerman and by her brothers Ken Campbell (late Rose Shaw), Doug (Ilene) Campbell. Also survived by her daughter-in-law Laureen Howlett and by her sisters-in-law Mildred Campbell, Sylvia Campbell, Ola Campbell, Ellen (Ralph) Wigmore and June (John) Bell. Joan is predeceased by her twin sister Joyce Cherry (late Bob Cherry) and by her brothers Charlie Campbell, Ross Campbell, Jack Campbell, and William Campbell.
Edward and Joan were married 56 years and raised their family in Sarnia, Ontario. For 22 years, Joan worked at the Sarnia Women’s Interval Home and for a few years she taught at Lambton College. Joan has been a longtime active member of Temple Baptist Church and has been with the Gideons International in Canada for 5 years.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, October 23 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line in Sarnia, Ontario.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24 at 3:00 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church, 1410 Quinn Drive in Sarnia. Cremation will follow.
