Wilson Shields CathyWILSON-SHIELDS, Catharine 'Cathy' (née Hobbs) - (October 31, 1944 - August 10, 2019) -

Peacefully at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice on August 10, 2019 with her loving husband Dan and daughter Meredith (Matt) by her side.

Cathy is survived by her sister Judi Rushton, brother Sam (Lorna) Hobbs, brother-in-law Wayne and stepchildren Aaron (Gillian), Jason (Catherine) and Jennifer (William).

Proud grandma to eleven grandchildren, Cathy will be missed by Andrew, Elizabeth, Aidan, Hudson, Marian, Samuel, Dillan, Jackson, Jacob, Thomas, Autumn, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Cathy was predeceased by Sharon Wittal, Albert Wilson & David Rushton.

Cathy was an Educator for 33 years in the Hamilton, Burlington and Waterloo regions, and took great pride and joy in her position and what it provided. Upon retirement Cathy energetically began hiking, golfing, travelling, spending time at the YMCA, book clubs, attending teacher luncheons and exploring winters in Naples, Florida.

Cathy also took great joy in caring for her grandchildren and spending time with her many friends. Her joyous, energetic spirit and radiant smile will always live on. Rest easy.

Family and friends are welcomed to the Bay Garden Funeral Home, 1010 Botanical Drive, BURLINGTON on Friday August 16th from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday August 17th from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. for visitation. A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.

In keeping with Cathy's wishes, cremation has taken place.

If desired, memorial donations to Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by Cathy's family.
