POST, George - (November 18, 1948 - October 13, 2019) - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear and loving husband and father, George, in his 71st year, on Sunday, October 13th, 2019 with family by his side.
George was the beloved husband of Kathleen (married 48 years).
Loving father of Kim (Kevin Hoogsteen), Julie (Jeff Sadlier), and Brian. Adored Pa of Kate, Hanna, Zach, and Nathan.
Dear brother of Rita Maxwell, John Post, Frank Post, and Tom Reape. Predeceased by his parents Andrew and Jane Post.
George was a proud family man and will be missed by all who were privileged to know him.
Born November 18, 1948 in The Netherlands, George immigrated to Canada when he was two years old with his parents and his sister. George spent his youth working on farms, developing his strong work ethic which helped him to build his successful business, Post Controlled Air. For over 30 years George ran his business and was a well respected business man and teacher.
V.W.Bro George was a proud and active member of Meridian Lodge #687, St Andrews Lodge #62, The Scottish Rite and The Shriners Club of Hamilton. George & Kathleen were proud to host the annual Masonic Pig Roast for over 10 years.
George loved life and always lived it to the fullest - putting 100% into everything he did. He loved to travel with Kathleen- spending time on the beach or golfing. He was an avid classic car collector, taking time to restore and even race a couple of them. George especially enjoyed his weekends and holidays at the cottage, spending time with family and friends. He could always be counted on to pour you a drink and share a great story or two.
The family would like to thank all staff at St Peter's Hospital (Maplewood Avenue) for their kind and compassionate care for George.
Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON on Thursday, October 17th from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
Masonic Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 18th at 10:00 am. Funeral Service will then be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am. Interment at a later date.
