LANE, Gordon Chrysostom 'Gord' - (1944 - 2019) - After a positive battle with cancer, we are sad to announce that Gord passed away on October 22, 2019 at the Georgetown Hospital.
Predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Carolyn.
Gord will always be remembered by his daughters Debbie and her husband Brinley Hole and Christina and her husband Donnie Raymond.
Cherished grandfather of Patrick (Becky), Amanda (Chris), Brittany and Kendra (Brad) Hole and Lillee Raymond.
Dearly missed by brothers George and his wife Marjory Lane and Donnie and his wife Colleen Lane, and by brothers-in-law Stan Crocker, Winston Campbell, Kevin Cummings, and sister-in-law Joanne Hancock.
Gord was predeceased by his sisters Cecilia Crocker and Alice Campbell, brother William “Bill” Lane and his wife Marlane, brother-in-law Steve Hancock and sister-in-law Dorothy Cummings.
The Social butterfly that Gord was; He will always be remembered for all the ways he was actively involved as Laidlaw Bus Driver and Social Committee Director, Bowling Coach for many years, as well as Executive for many leagues, Newfoundland Club Past President, always having a pocket full of pens and as Bingo Caller at Cedar Valley Resort.
We are grateful for all the support provided by Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills, along with the palliative care team from Acclaim Health. We would like to say thank you and show our appreciation for the support and care from our family and friends and the many doctors and nurses of Credit Valley and Georgetown Hospitals who provided care for Gord.
A special thank you to Gord’s home care nurse Jericho who was a blessing, and the staff at Georgetown Hospital for their compassionate care and making Gord feel very comfortable.
Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, on Sunday, October 27th from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 28th at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 14400 Argyll Road, Georgetown at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Church Hall.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills (CASHH) would be appreciated.
