Coward TylerCOWARD, Tyler Patrick - (May 21, 1986 – November 8, 2019)

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Tyler on November 8th, 2019 at 7:36 PM in his 33rd year. Tyler died at home where he wanted to be in the arms of his mother, sister and Monica after a courageous battle with cancer.

Tyler was the much loved son of Susan and Patrick Coward, brother to Kelly Coward and his adopted sister Monica Magina and uncle to Kalia Keefe.

Grandson of Gerald (D), Joyce (D) and Nora (D) Goodwin, Kathleen and Robert (D) Paul and Eugene (D) Coward. Nephew of Vernon and Linda Goodwin, Lee-Ann and Glen Gallant, Mike (D), Donald (D), Dennis (D) and Kathy Coward and cousin to many.

Sincere thanks to Father James Petrie, Father David Reitzel and Father Patras Masih for their spiritual care. Special and sincere gratitude to Dr. C. R. Morris, Dr. S. Winemaker, Dr. K Zbuk, Pain Management nurse Mani Boparai, VON nurse Elizabeth Gula and the nurses at Jurvinski Cancer Clinic and all others that cared for Tyler.

Tyler was a very soft-hearted, quiet and gentle person; but extremely protective and loyal to both family and friends and will be missed immeasurably. He was quick-witted and could make you laugh with his unique sayings and gestures and had a way of making you feel good.

Tyler had a gifted natural artistic ability for drawing and painting. He loved fishing, tending to the pond with the Koi fish and growing plants. A special thank you to Uncle Vern Goodwin and Cousin Shane Gallant for providing the plants that gave Tyler the incentive to get up on his worst days and tend them.

Although Tyler never had children he treated his niece Kalia like she was his own daughter. Family was important to Tyler – he loved his sisters Kelly and Monica and missed his grandfathers “G-Man” Goodwin and Grandpa Paul especially making them breakfast; he constantly worried about his Grandma Paul and her well-being. Tyler was a very thoughtful person who cared deeply for others.

Visitation will be held at the Bay Gardens Funeral Home; 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton on Friday, November 15 from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM with Vigil prayers at 7:30 PM.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption parish, 63 Regional Road 20 on Saturday, November 16th at 11:00 AM.

Rest in Peace Tyler. Grief is the price we pay for love. - Queen Elizabeth
Until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand. - Irish Proverb
