Baiardo CarmeloBAIARDO, CarmeloCarmelo Baiardo was born on December 23, 1938 in Aragona, Sicily, Italy.

In 1962 he immigrated to Hamilton, Ontario Canada and in 1970 married his “honey” Giuseppina (nee Rizzo).

Together, they raised four beautiful children in the home he built himself on Scenic Drive: Maria (Mark) Marino, Giuseppe Baiardo, Connie (Carmelo) La Rosa and Michelle Baiardo.

Carmelo was most proud of his twelve grandchildren; Antonio, Carmelo and Marco Marino; Giuseppina, Carmelo, Anna Maria, Victoria, Giuseppe JR, Sofia Baiardo, Alfonso and Carmelo La Rosa; and Alessandro Ellis. Carmelo is survived by his sisters Francescina (Sicily), Raimonda (Belgium); brothers Vincenzo and Giovanni (Belgium) and Rosa Baiardo, Calogero and Santa Sardo, Agnesa (the late Beniamino) Lo Presti, Giuseppe and Ida Rizzo, Salvina Rizzo (England); as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Carmelo was a skilled plumber and pipe fitter who worked on many major projects in the greater Hamilton area. He worked with great pride for Local 67, Mattina Mechanical and also taught at Mohawk College.

We will always remember his warm smile, big heart and generous spirit; he loved the saying “You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar.” And so taught us to always choose kindness.

Carmelo was welcomed into God’s arms on November 27th, 2019 at the age of 80.

He will be reunited in Heaven with his father Giuseppe, his mother Maria, brother Salvatore and sister Marienina Baiardo, in-laws Michael and Concetta Rizzo and sister-in-law Maria Rizzo, nephew Giuseppe Sardo and niece Jennine Lo Presti.

Visitations will take place at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON on Thursday, November 28th from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, 50 Brucedale Avenue East, Hamilton. on Friday, November 29th at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Ancaster.
