Paterman HelenPATEMAN, Helen May - After a long fight with cancer, we announce the passing of Helen Pateman (nee Bates) on August 30, 2017 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa with family by her side.

Loving wife to Arthur for over 51 years.

Caring mother of Brian (Leela), Wendy and the late Michael. Proud grandmother of Joshua (Ashley), Joel (Samantha), Lauren and great grandmother of Grace Rose.

Sister of Muriel (Gordon), Sylvia (Ross) and the late William (Denise). She will be missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Helen enjoyed her career at Dominion, retiring as a cake decorator after 37 years. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining and spending time with family, but was always happiest when helping others (or shopping).

Helen spent many summers cruising the Trent-Severn from Ottawa to Parry Sound with Arthur and will be missed by their boating friends. Her kindness and generosity will always be remembered by all whose lives she touched.

Join the family in celebrating Helen's life on Wednesday September 6th at the Salvation Army Oshawa Temple, 570 Thornton Rd N, Oshawa, L1J6T6 for Visitation at 10am with Memorial Service at 11am and reception in the church hall.

Helen will be laid to rest at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME & CEMETERY, 21 Garrard Rd, Whitby, ON, L1N 3K4, 905-443-3376, following the reception.

If desired, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or Lakeridge Health Foundation - Supportive Care.
