Douglas “Doug” John Henderson

June 5, 1957 – December 24, 2024 (67 Years Old)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Doug Henderson on December 24th, 2024, at the age of 67. Doug was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was defined by his love for his family, his passion for music, and his joy in sharing the outdoors with those he loved.

Known for his laughter, generous spirit, and dedication to helping others, Doug brought warmth and kindness to everyone he met. His extensive circle of friends, from childhood to retirement, is a testament to the great man he was.

He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 38 years, Gayelyn, his two daughters Amelia Brennan (Kyle) and Kayly Richardson (Reed), and his beautiful granddaughters Isla, Maeve, and Molly. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law Guye (Catherine) and Gene (Tammy), as well as several nieces and nephews.

Doug was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Maureen Henderson, his in-laws, Jack and Bev Vondette, and his brothers, Dave and Paul. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Celebration of Life: Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Social Pub, 295 George St N, Peterborough, ON.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Peterborough Musicians Benevolent Association or Brock Primary Care Clinic via e-transfer to wwmcnabb@gmail.com.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Highland Park Funeral Centre, Peterborough, Ontario.
