Robert "Bob" Hess

August 28, 1948 - January 2, 2025

Robert "Bob" Hess of South Dundas passed away peacefully at Winchester District Memorial Hospital on January 2, 2025, at the age of 76, surrounded by family. Bob was the loving husband of Cathie (née McGuire) and a cherished father to Bren (Lee) Gray of Okotoks, Alberta, Michael (Natalie) Hess of Cornwall, and Jonathan (Jamie) Robinson of Cornwall.

He was a fun-loving grandfather to Dylan, Abbey, and Thomas, Jesse and Kevin, and Dylan and Ryley. Bob is also survived by his siblings Jim (Kelly) Hess, Douglas Hess, and Ruth (Glen) Liscumb. He was predeceased by his parents, Carl Hess and Grace Flegg, his son-in-law Michael Gray, his brother Timothy Hess, and his father-in-law Melville McGuire.

Bob will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and outdoorsman. Whether hunting in the woods or fishing on the water, he found joy in nature and the great outdoors.

Funeral Arrangements: Friends are welcome to join the family for an Irish wake to raise a glass and share stories in Bob's honor on January 10, 2025, at the Royal Canadian Legion in Chesterville from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. A cash bar will be available. Donations in Bob’s memory to the Cancer Society or Winchester District Memorial Hospital would be appreciated. Please include the note “please notify the family” if making donations online or by cheque directly to the charity.

Arrangements are entrusted to Marsden McLaughlin Funeral Home. Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared at marsdenmclaughlin.com.
