Beverley Joan Howarth
15-Oct-1947 – 6-Jan-2025
Beverley Howarth (Hamilton) passed away peacefully on the morning of January 6, 2025. She will be profoundly missed by family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
Beverley was born on October 15, 1947, in Belleville, Ontario, to Jim and Joan Hamilton. She was the cherished first daughter in a family that would grow to include five siblings: Tommy (predeceased), Jim (Kettly, predeceased), Liz (Bob), Pete (Donna), and Doug (Kelly).
Beverley is survived by her three daughters—Sarah Heino (Howarth), her husband Julian Tutino, and her son Mikko Heino; Cathy Howarth and her daughter Charlie Howarth; and Vicky Devolin (Howarth), her husband Andrew Devolin, and their children Lily and Toad (Bridget) Devolin. She is also survived by her former husband, Richard Howarth, and her four siblings, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and memories.
Bev was a supportive wife, a stay-at-home mom, and a well-accomplished French Teacher for the Durham Catholic School Board. She had a passion for music and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. Her love for the natural world can still be felt in her children and grandchildren today. She was a natural leader and a shining star who inspired everyone she met.
Visitation will take place at Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 PM and 6:00–8:00 PM. A service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 1:30 PM at the same location, followed by a reception.
In keeping with Beverley's love of nature and charitable spirit, the family invites donations to be made in her name to the Nature Conservancy Canada or the Scott Mission.
Her legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew her.

POSTED BY Kathy Lennox | 10-Jan-2025
Bev and I started together as French teachers at St. Paul in Whitby, my very first placement for Durham Catholic. I hit the jackpot for a teaching partner, the absolute best. She was warm, funny, and brilliant! I fondly remember the many barbecues at her home and Pete and I getting to know her beautiful family and her many cats over the years. Some of my best memories of that time were doing choir with Bev and Cathy Macdonald, always laughing more than we were playing or singing. How talented she was at cooking, art, music, gardening, pretty much anything she put her mind to. She will be greatly missed. Au revoir ma belle amie. Luv xoxo Kathy Lennox
