PLANETA, James “Jim” - (June 3, 1933 – October 14, 2021)
After a life well lived, it is with sadness, we announce the passing of our dad into the arms of Our Lord.
He was predeceased by the love of his life, Rose, in February 2021, after 65 years of marriage.
Dad was born in Oshawa in 1933 to immigrant parents from Poland.
Married in 1955, they later built a home in Courtice which they loved and lived in for 50 years.
A longtime GM employee in tool and die and proud of his job.
He was an avid reader and a great lover of Jazz music which was always on, in their home. He was a longtime member of St. Therese Church, Courtice.
He was not always an easy man, but he was a fair one with a strong sense of right and wrong. Many values were instilled in us and our children.
Many enjoyable years were spent travelling the world with my mom. Later in life spending time at their cottage with friends, family and grandchildren brought him joy.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Joanne Trypuc (Raymond) and Basia Border (Brett) as well as grandchildren Mark, Greg, Briana, Meredith, Courtney, Evan and 8 great grandchildren and also a brother John and a sister Adele.
Family was the most important thing in his life. But when my mom passed, half of his heart went to heaven with her. A private service will be held for immediate family only.
A celebration of both parents' lives will be held at a later date in the New Year.
Many thanks to the staff on Primrose Path at Hillsdale Estates. He was content there. I hope he is now at peace and pain free.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Refuge Youth Outreach Centre in Oshawa, if you choose.
Arrangements entrusted to COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL , 1587 Highway #2, Courtice (905-432-8484).
