October 14, 1927 - January 25, 2024

 

Jenny passed away peacefully, on January 25th at Scarborough General Hospital, in her 97th year.

 

She leaves behind her loving husband, Tadaaki, after 69 years of marriage.

 

Survived by her loving son, Randy and his wife, Lynne and their family: Olen and Veronica, Chris and Elisabete, and Maggie.

 

Grandsons: Brandon, Wyatt, and Hudson. Granddaughter: Juno. Sister-in-law: Pansy.

 

Predeceased by her brothers, Mutt (Miki), Don (Edna and Gary), Mitts and sister, Patricia Tanaka (Tommy and Ron).

 

She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Jenny was born in Chemainus, BC. She and family were uprooted and interned at Lemon Creek, BC during the war and reunited in Toronto afterwards. She enjoyed travelling to Las Vegas, Hawaii, Japan, cruising the Caribbean and Alaska.

 

Summers spent at brother Mutt's Two Tone Cottages at Wasaga Beach. Jenny was an avid volunteer at Momiji and The JCCC where she was lovingly called "Auntie Jenny" by many of her younger fellow volunteers.

 

A Memorial Gathering will be held at Pine Hills Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Road in Scarborough.

 

Please join us anytime between 2 and 5 p.m., Saturday, February 17, 2024. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Momiji Health Care Society or the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre would be greatly appreciated.
