BOGGS, Joyce Elca (nee Thorpe) - At peace passed on Wednesday, August 30, 2017.
Joyce was born August 19, 1933 in Toronto to Clifford and Irene Thorpe.
Cherished sister to Marguerite Finlayson and predeceased by her brother Michael Thorpe.
Joyce will be remembered by her forever loved children, Laurie (Reid), Murray (Lucena) and Brian (Marcia).
Beloved Grandma Joy to Ashley, Lee Michael (Rachel), Greg (Cari) and Great-Grandma Joy to Abigail. Joyce lived and loved life, her greatest passion was her family. An avid reader, she spent years as a librarian for the United Church Archives until her retirement. Joyce was an active choir member of Northminster United Church.
Family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Selby and the excellent nursing staff at K Wing for the gentle care given to her during her illness.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held for family and friends who wish to attend at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge St., at Goulding, south of Steeles) on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 11 a.m.
Private immediate family inurnment will be held at Spring Creek Cemetery in Mississauga. In lieu of flowers, the family wish to express their thanks, by donations made to the Sunnybrook K Wing Palliative Care.
The stars are a bit brighter tonight, knowing that she is watching over us.
