IRISH, Joyce Evelyn (nee MICHAELIS) - March 24, 1938 - January 1, 2021
Joyce, aged 82 years, passed away peacefully, while in care at the Caressant Care Long Term Care Home, in Lindsay, shortly after her granddaughter, Marianne, tucked her in, and finished her visit at sunset.
Mom is remembered as a woman of unwavering faith who emerged stronger following cancer, twice; a compassionate soul called to care for newborns as a Registered Nurse; a gifted artist and crafter; an avid gardener; homemaker extraordinaire, with an open door for friends and family; and a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.
Mom was predeceased by her husband, Norm; her son, Tim, one year earlier; her sister, June; and parents, Garnet and Evelyn Michaelis, of Parry Sound.
Mom is loved and remembered by Tim's family: Marianne, Melody, Liam, Olivia, Anne and Shalini; Peter's family: Roxanne, Ryan, Kyle, Hilary and Chantel; brothers, Ross (Leah) and Howard (Barbara); sister-in-law, Isabel; many nieces and nephews, and incredible friends, especially Maureen McCullough and Barbara Armstrong.
Arrangements with Highland Funeral Home, Scarborough, on Thursday, February 4th. Sadly, due to the COVID-19 restrictions in place, we are extremely restricted with our arrangements and cannot receive guests.
Mom absolutely loved flowers but she may also be remembered through gifts in memoriam, to Yorkminster Park Baptist Church, 1585 Yonge St., Toronto.
We can't thank their pastoral care team enough for visiting Mom over the past 10 years.
