Quinn KarenQUINN, Karen Gail   -   Peacefully, after a short battle with cancer, at Trillium Health Mississauga, on Tuesday, June 28, 2022.

Karen Quinn (née Carmichael), beloved wife of Robert, in her 67th year.

Loving sister and sister-in-law of Kim (John) Schembri, Glen Carmichael, Kelly (Paul) Haggett, Ian (Leanne) Carmichael, John (Marian) Quinn, and Bill (Theresa) Quinn.

Also loved and missed by her many nieces, nephews, grandnephews, and grandnieces. Karen was predeceased by her parents, Shirley (2001) and John (2021).

Karen was the eldest of five children in a loving family and was quickly thrust into the role of helping her mother manage the brood. Those early bonds were never broken and they all remained close throughout her life. She got the travel bug early, fostered by long car trips that her parents would take them on all over North America, as well as the annual pilgrimage to Nova Scotia to visit all her father's family.

After graduating from the University of Windsor with a degree in sociology and anthropology, her caring for the well-being of others led her to a career in the charitable field. She retired in 2017, after more than 38 years with the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario.

When she and Bob married in 1985, the travel bug continued and the venues expanded to include many trips to Europe and the Caribbean.

Friends are invited to call at Jarvis Community Church (formerly Wesley United Church), 19 Church Street, Jarvis, on Friday, July 8th, for a visitation from 11 a.m. until noon, with the Funeral Service to be held at 12:30 p.m. Interment of cremated remains to follow at Wesley United Church Cemetery, followed by a Reception and Luncheon.

If desired, donations to the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario, or a Charity of Your Choice, would be appreciated by the family.
