It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Franca Claudia Koitses on March 11, 2025, at Toronto General Hospital, surrounded by her loving husband Peter and children Sierra and Nick. Franca was born on July 6, 1967, in Moyeuvre-Grande, France, to Anna Cascone and Emilio Cappuccitti. She arrived in Canada at the tender age of 10 months, where she would grow up to touch the lives of so many around her.
Franca was a loving wife to Peter Koitses, her high school sweetheart and soulmate, whom she married on August 19, 1989. Together, they built a life filled with love and happiness, raising their two children who embody her spirit. She loved to travel with her family and live life to the fullest. Her strength and kindness extended beyond her family, touching everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was a warm, caring person who gave endlessly to others, and her friendship was a gift to all who experienced it.
Franca faced many challenges in her life, none more difficult than the long, hard battle with cancer that she fought with unmatched courage. She was deeply grateful to the staff at Princess Margaret Hospital, who became like family to her during her last six months. After overcoming this fierce battle, her cancer went into remission, but the treatments eventually took their toll, and she fought bravely until her last breath. Her passing came far too soon for all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind her devoted husband Peter, her children Sierra and Nick, her brother Mike, and her mother Anna.
She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Rest in peace, Franca. You will never be forgotten.
