Kostas Demetrios Koufis
26-Apr-1937 - 8-Jan-2025
We sadly announce the passing of Kostas Demetrios Koufis on January 8, 2025. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to his deceased wife Kostantina, father to children Chris (Adriana), Jim (Sherrie), and Helen. He will be especially missed by his grandchildren Jonathan (Mary), Daniel (Catie), Stephanie, Lacey, Sebasteann (Christina), David, Meagan, and Matthew. Kostas will be fondly remembered as Great Pappou by Benjamin, Issac, Miles, Eleni, and Nara.
In 1958 Kostas arrived in Toronto, Canada, from Alona Florina, Greece, and two years later he and Kostantina purchased their first house in East York. They owned a restaurant with family in Bloor West Village, then started a dry-cleaning business in the High Park area. He and family enjoyed great times at the cottage on Lake Scugog and their winter house in Holiday, Florida.
Kostas took great joy from Greek music and dancing, his faith, and his garden, but most importantly his grandchildren, who always brought a smile to his face and many, many laughs.
