Raymond Leon Joseph Lafleur
March 4, 1944 - November 26, 2024
It is with great sadness that the family of Raymond Leon Joseph Lafleur announces his peaceful passing on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the age of 80. Raymond passed away at Caressant Care Nursing Home in Cobden, Ontario, surrounded by love.
Beloved husband of Sandra (née Hodder) for 59 wonderful years, Raymond was the devoted father of Ray (Laurie), Rick, Moe (Kim), and Angelique (Joe). He was the cherished “Poppa” to T.J., Shawn, Brittany, Courtney, Judy, Danielle, Denny, Ryan, Emily, and Alex, and the proud great-grandfather of Claire.
Raymond was a dear brother to Colette (Gilles), Rene (Dianne), and Lise (Larry) and is lovingly remembered by his in-laws Judy (Ed’s wife), Nellie (Allen), Gail (late Dave), and Chris (Debbie). He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Gilbert and Carmen (Miron) Lafleur, his brother Jack (Yvonne), and his brother-in-law Ed.
A veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force, Raymond was a man of many talents, including music, mechanics, and leadership. He was a fixer of all things and found great joy in sharing his talents with those around him. His greatest loves were his family, music, and his faith in God.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Caressant Care Nursing Home for their compassionate care and to Veterans Affairs for their support. Special thanks to the Eganville Legion Branch 353 and the Ladies Auxiliary for their kindness and dedication.
Visitation will be held at Zohr Family Funeral Home, Eganville, on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James the Less Catholic Church in Eganville on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live-streamed (scroll to “Watch Webcasting” on the funeral home website).
In lieu of flowers, donations to Caressant Care Nursing Home, St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation in Barry’s Bay, or the Royal Canadian Legion Eganville Branch 353 are greatly appreciated. Tributes, condolences, and donations may be made online at www.zohrfuneralhome.com.
