PARRY, Linda Anne (nee WATSON) - With her family at her side, Anne passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 25, 2024, in her 77th year.
Dearly missed by beloved husband, Tom.
Cherished mother of Liz and Chris (Ilona). Proud Nana of Andrew and Jason. Predeceased by parents, Daniel and Edna Watson.
Missed by family and friends. A longtime King City resident, Anne was a vibrant, energetic person whose positive outlook touched everyone who knew her: her family, her friends, and the many people she worked with.
Anne was raised on the family farm on the 13th Concession in Orillia Township and graduated from OD.
She had special memories of time spent teaching in Sturgeon Falls, driving her green Cougar, and learning some French. Later, Anne worked as a volunteer coordinator with the Red Cross, Hospice King, and the Maple Health Centre, creating a sense of belonging and community for volunteers and the people they assisted.
She returned to teaching, working with adult students at Emery Collegiate Institute, where she taught ESL and technology. Her energy, sense of mutual respect, and focus on the practical made her a special teacher for many students.
Always with a keen eye for detail and design, Anne and her family built their own home in King City and renovated several family properties, leaving lasting memories of good times shared.
She loved curling, both as a participant and as a spectator. As per Anne's wishes, cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for the spring.
In Anne's remembrance, please consider a donation to the Canadian Red Cross, the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
