CHEMERIS, Maria S. Romanenko  –  We regret to announce the passing of Maria Romanenko Chemeris on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto, with family by her side.

Maria was born in January 1937 in Donetsk, Ukraine.

She immigrated to Canada in 1976, where she met her late husband of over 30 years, Wasil Chemeris.

Maria was extremely talented in producing many beautiful works of art with her detailed needlework pieces and custom clothing.

She often hosted guests in her home and enjoyed working in her garden.

Maria will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Family and friends are welcome to gather at McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Pickering Village, on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Following the service, a burial will be held at Erskine Cemetery.
