DAY, Marjorie Cynthia (nee HERMANUS) - December 20, 1933 - June 22, 2022
Cynthia Day passed away peacefully from Dementia at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Norman Day, by 72 hours as in a true love story having been married for 62 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim Day and puppy Lola. She was the "cool" auntie to many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews in South Africa and England.
Cynthia was born in Mossel Bay, South Africa where she was active in the anti-apartheid movement.
Moving to London, England she met her beloved husband, Norman Day, moving with him to Canada in 1962.
Throughout her life, Cynthia was an accomplished teacher in Cape Town, London, Toronto and in her retirement in Grenada. Cynthia was an active volunteer with the Sunshine Centre, regular member of the YMCA Central and an accomplished craftswoman with her jewellery, painting and upholstery.
She will be remembered and loved by many here in Canada and throughout the world.
Please join us for a Celebration of Life for Cynthia and Norman at Carens Rosedale, 1118 Yonge Street, Toronto, on Thursday, July 14th from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m with a small service at 2:45 p.m.
