MESTRY, Minnie - Passed with peace and grace on the morning of October 12, 2018 at the age of 86.

Survived by husband Sivaraja (Steve) and children Rozitta, Vargo, Kalyani, Sharmala, Indrani, Lulu and Vinothan; grandchildren: Kitana, Ellora, Kiara, Tyron, Eldeen, Mareasce, Andre, Perusha, Nishaan, Chenille, Sean, Wayne, Tracy, Lee, Miles, Ishara, Havanya, Kerusha, Kalisha, Adrian, Reece, Christopher, Sasha along with 25 great grandchildren; and brother Cecil. She was predeceased by daughter Joy, son Satya, grandson Elsten, brothers Freddy, Vernon, Japan, sister Ivy and first husband Ari.
Minnie was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. After marrying Ari and having her first 6 children, she began her catering business which went on to become very successful. After her divorce, she continued to raise her children, and met Steve whom she later married. She spent much of her life in catering, until she moved to Canada with Steve and their 3 children. She began a long career as a personal care worker until her retirement.
She will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother whose greatest passion was helping others.
A service will be held at Glen Oaks funeral home, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville on Sunday, October 21st from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., with family reflections at 12 o'clock.
