GRIFFIN, Elizabeth Anne Griffin

Passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, in her 89th year.

Loved mother of Kathleen Scott, and Alex Griffin. She was proud of her grandsons, Zachary Scott and Thomas Scott. Anne was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Mary (née McAlpine) Howson, and her brother, Paul Howson.

Anne was born on April 19, 1937, in London, ON. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, receiving her Reg. N diploma in 1960. She attended the University of Western Ontario School of Nursing and received her diploma in Public Health Nursing in 1961. Anne studied at Knox College, Toronto to be a missionary, and served in Nigeria in the early 1960’s. From the early 1980’s until the late 1990’s she worked as a homemaker with the Canadian Red Cross. Anne was an active member of the former Alma Street Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas. One of Anne’s favourite things was enjoying hamburger Happy Meals (see photo on the Tribute Wall).

In keeping with Anne’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation or funeral service.  Private interment will be made in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London. If so desired, please consider a memorial donation to Covenant House Toronto. Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).

Special thanks to the staff on 4th floor at the STEGH, and Metcalfe Gardens, as well as the countless PSW’s who supported Anne with home care over the years.

Arrangements
