AKL, Nabil Abou-Akl

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nabil Abou-Akl, who passed away surrounded by family on September 27, 2025, in Windsor, Ontario, at the age of 64.

Nabil was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and spent his early years between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia before immigrating to Canada in 1988, where he built a life rooted in hard work, creativity, and deep love for his family. He was the beloved son of the late Ibrahim and Nadia Abou-Akl.

He is survived by his children Romel (Rita), Heidi, William, Julia, and Arthur (Leslie), each of whom carries forward a part of his spirit. He was the proud Jiddo of Adrian, Layla, and Noah, who brought light and joy to his later years. He was incredibly proud and fulfilled by the lives of his children.

Nabil is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Joe (Rose), Berta (Shahid †), and Tony (Lisa), and was predeceased by his brother Roy. He also lovingly leaves behind his nieces and nephews: Maher, Elie, Sandy, Patricia, Ashley, Alex, Gabriel, and Liam.

Nabil shared many meaningful years with his former spouse, Danuta, the mother of his children, and his one true love. He will also be remembered by the many friends he made along the way.

Nabil had a creative soul and a sharp eye. He worked for many years in flooring and ran his own business, but he found true joy in collecting treasures, painting, and expressing himself through art. He had a lifelong love for Westerns, both in film and spirit; a quiet man with an untamed heart, guided by grit, independence, and a fierce love for his family.

Though his life had its struggles, Nabil will be remembered for his unique spirit, his creativity, and the legacy he leaves behind in his children and grandchildren. He will be missed greatly, but we know his soul now sits with Christ.

Thank you for the kind words from all those who loved and cherished his presence.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home, Banwell Location, 11677 Tecumseh Rd.
