ALCID, Erlinda Laroco Alcid

Surrounded by the love of her family, Erlinda Laroco Alcid peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 6. She was the beloved wife of the late Orlando (Bong) Alcid and devoted partner of Bruce Meyers, with whom she shared 27 beautiful years filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures.

Born to the late Jose and Adela Laroco, Erlinda was one of eight siblings and cherished her role as a daughter and sister. She was predeceased by Victoria Carino (Avel), Jose “Joker” Laroco, and Josephine Calibuso (Edgar), and is lovingly remembered by Melchor Laroco (Leticia) of Fort Worth, Texas; Ampy Dicioco (Boyet) of Toronto, Ontario; Luis Laroco (Amy) of Windsor, Ontario; and Ellen Laroco (Jerry) of Windsor, Ontario.

Erlinda was a devoted mother to Ian Alvin (Tasia), Lyndon Orlando (late Drew), and Kimberly Anne—her greatest joys in life. She was a proud and loving Lola to Zoe Lyn, Harrison Louie, and Evelyn Rose, and found daily comfort and companionship in her beloved Morkie, Myles Rico.

She was a treasured Auntie to Emily, Laurimay (Vernon), Melinda (Christopher), Edward, Estephanie (Daryl), Tyler, Brianna, Christina (Jan), Paul, David, Dylan, Eric (Mary Grace), and a loving grandaunt to Nolan, Phoenix, Letty Louise, Roman, Cohen, Xo, Phil, Matthew, Olivia, Joeredd, and Jahzeel. She was known among them not only for her warmth and wisdom, but also for her sharp sense of style, her fun-loving spirit, and her joy in the simple pleasures—especially a good game of bingo.

As a Health Care Aide, Erlinda lived a life grounded in care and compassion. Her generosity and quiet strength touched the lives of many—both within and beyond her profession. She lived her Catholic faith with deep devotion, rooted in prayer and service. Her rosary was never far from her hands, and her belief in God’s love carried her through every chapter of life.

Erlinda was also an avid gardener, finding peace and purpose in nature. Her garden, like her life, reflected her nurturing spirit and enduring grace. Whether traveling or simply enjoying time at home, she found happiness in the everyday and gratitude in the simple things.

Erlinda’s memory will be cherished always, and her legacy of faith, kindness, and unconditional love lives on in every life she touched.

Donations may be sent to Hospice of Windsor (6038 Empress Street, Windsor, Ontario) in gratitude for their compassionate care.
