ALLSOPP, Edith Erna Allsopp (née Wagner)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edith (Edie) Erna Allsopp (née Wagner), age 91, of Kitchener. Edith passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025.

Born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Erna Wagner (née Siewert). Beloved wife and sweetheart of Rev. Earl Allsopp for over 67 years. Loving mother to Stephen Allsopp (Pam) and Lori Jantzi (Rodney). Special Grandma to Amanda, Adam, Liana, and Erik. Great-grandma to Mackenzie and Chase.

Survived by brother-in-law Arnold Allsopp (Astrid), sister-in-law Lila Charette, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Heinz and Gerhard Wagner; brothers-in-law Donald Kilian and Ruben Charette; sisters-in-law Joanne Allsopp and Elsie Wagner; and granddaughter Alexandria Allsopp.

Edith met Earl at a very young age and their lifelong connection grew into a beautiful marriage filled with love and devotion. Her deep Christian faith guided her throughout her life. She served faithfully in various Lutheran congregations as a Sunday School teacher, secretary, organist, choir director, and in numerous church support roles.

Edith worked with Northern Canada Supply Limited and later as a school secretary in Prince Albert, SK. Her heart for service extended to the LWMLC and the Lutheran Braille Workers in New Hamburg.

Visitation will be held at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 9 from 2–4 PM and 6–8 PM. A funeral service will take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Petersburg on Thursday, July 10 at 2 PM, with reception to follow.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or Lutheran Hour Ministries.
