AMAND, Patricia Ann St. Amand

It is with great fondness for a life well lived that we acknowledge the passing of Patricia Ann St. Amand on January 19,2026. She was known to her family and friends as Pat, and to her siblings as Teresa. Pat was predeceased by her husband Steve, her father Cornelius, her sister Mary, and brother John. Pat leaves behind her two sons Matthew (Melissa) and Stephen, her grandchildren Stephen and Clarie, her sister Betty (John), brother Joe, her many nieces and nephews, and her loyal concierge Laura.

Pat had a way of commanding a room, Never shy on opinions, Pat was happy to share it with any and all. Pat was strong-willed, but there was a compassion in her way. She would always take the time to talk to strangers as though they were friends, often catching them off guard, but always leaving them with a smile. If you went out for food with Pat, you could not leave the restaurant without her taking up conversation with a stranger . The staff at Marigold hospice all loved her wit and character. Even in the end, Pat delighted in interacting with others and leaving them with a smile.

Visitation is Friday, January 23, 2026 from noon to 1 pm at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home 5295 Thickson Rd N, Whitby, ON with service to immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers we ask that any donations be made to the wonderful people at Marigold Hospice in Newcastle (marigoldhospicecare.ca) who worked so diligently to make sure that Pat’s last day were as peaceful and comfortable as possible.
